Laurus nobilis 'Green Stem'
An evergreen shrub with dark green, leathery aromatic foliage. Once established, is tolerant of tough environmental conditions.
This slow to moderately slow growing plant prefers a moist well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. For best results fertilise with a long term slow release fertilizer in early Spring, and prune to shape when required.
This plant grows well in containers and makes a suitable houseplant, however, care must be taken to ensure it is watered sufficiently during the warmer months. During Winter, minimal watering is necessary though the tree should be situated in a sheltered position away from excessive winds and rain. Prune to maintain symmetrical shape and promote a dense growth habit.
An excellent plant for topiary and is well suited to formal gardens. Its dried leaves are used in cooking and so it is an essential plant in any kitchen garden.
