Luma apiculata Cloud
A cloud tree features a single plant with a series of cleared stems topped by rounded canopies, resembling clouds. Traditionally found in Chinese and Japanese gardens, these striking trees have become popular across various garden styles. With their unique silhouette, cloud trees make a bold statement and serve as an exceptional focal point in any landscape. Luma apiculata Clouds are exceptional for crafting dense, rounded heads. Their foliage closely resembles that of Buxus, yet they feature a faster growth habit, making them an excellent choice for achieving larger heads in a shorter timeframe. They typically flower from late spring to early summer in creamy white clusters.

Luma can defoliate if they dry out but typically re-shoot quickly.

Tolerates any well-drained soil.

Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Prune as required to maintain shape, ideally in late autumn or early spring. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth. Will benefit from a yearly application of mulch. Can be susceptible to aphids and spider mite- treat accordingly.
Water Requirements:
Keep moist in the warmer months, water sparingly in winter.
