A compact growing form of Ficus hillii with emerald green foliage and lighter green new growth. ‘Flash‘ is an Australian native with a quick upright growth habit. It will grow to a large tree if untrimmed. Flowers are insignificant.

Cultural

Ficus roots have the potential to cause structural damage- keep plants well-watered and maintained to prevent this. Ficus ‘Flash‘ can tolerate light frosts once established but young growth may still be affected.
Soil:
Tolerates any well-drained soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Prune regularly to maintain shape, avoid pruning in winter to prevent damage from the cold. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
Seasonal Interest:
Year round foliage interest.

Utilised extensively in the landscape because of its toughness and versatility. Perfect for hedging around pools or formal gardens. It‘s foliage creates wonderful topiary standards and cones which can be grown in pots if kept clipped. This plant can do it all!
