A large, hardy tree known for its drought and salt tolerance, Laurus nobilis 'Miles Choice' features glossy, dark green leaves that are aromatic. The leaves of 'Miles Choice' are typically smaller and more abundant than those of the traditional bay, giving the plant a lush and full appearance. It produces yellow flowers between September to October, adding to its overall appeal.

Cultural

Prefers a moist, well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. It has a low water requirement once established. For best results, fertilize with a long-term slow-release fertilizer in early spring and prune to shape as needed.

Landscape Uses

An effective hedging/screening plant that can be kept clipped from 1-4 metres, or left to grow into a medium sized tree. Its dark green leaves provide an ideal backdrop for other plants. An excellent plant for topiary and is well suited to formal gardens. Its dried leaves are used in cooking and so it is an essential plant in any kitchen garden.
