Westringia fruticosa 'Jervis Gem' Ball
The compact version of Westringia ‘Wynyabbie Gem’, 'Jervis Gem', is a versatile and hardy shrub native to the coastal regions of eastern Australia. Its leaves are small, narrow, and linear, and they are a grey-green colour. Its foliage is dense and compact, giving the plant a bushy appearance. Mauve flowers bloom sporadically throughout the year, with peak flowering occurring in spring.
Cultural
Prefers a full sun position and well-draining soil, though can tolerate a wide range of soil types. Tolerant of salt spray and coastal winds, it thrives when clipped into hedges. Requires little water once established and is relatively pest and disease-free.
Landscape Uses
Topiary balls are ideal for formal gardens or modern Japanese gardens, though can add structure to any garden.
