A hybrid of ‘Captain Cook’ and ‘Little John’ with improved characteristics such as a more compact growth habit and better flowering. Vivid red bottlebrush flowers are on show from September to November.


Prefers a full sun position but can tolerate part shade, is frost and drought tolerant and grows in most soil conditions. If planted in sandy soil or dry climates make sure to top up with water in warmer months. Prune after flowering or to keep shape.

Landscape Uses

Great for informal or formal hedging or as a medium size specimen shrub. Plant with other Australian natives such as Westringia ‘Jervis Gem’ or Correa alba.


Can be kept to 1.0m high x 70cm wide or left to grow to 1.8m high x 1.5m wide
