Lovely dark green foliage and bronze tinted new growth.

To ensure optimal results, Acmena smithii should be grown in a full sun or partially shaded position. It becomes extremely hardy once established. Can be kept trimmed to the desired height and width and may be cut back quite hard to maintain its size. Regular trimming will produce more colourful new growth and keep the plant bushy. Will tolerate dry conditions once established and is reasonably frost tolerant. For best results fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in Spring. Like all the other forms of Acmena smithii this plant will not get leaf damage from psyllids.

Landscape Uses

An ideal choice for a quick growing solid screen or windbreak, as its deep green foliage provides a good backdrop for other plants. It can also be grown in large containers or clipped into topiary shapes. Suitable for street plantings and industrial sites.
