This Multistem involves the careful process of clearing the lower limbs of the plant while allowing the upper growth to form a rounded mound. Commonly known as Purple Holly, Osmanthus heterophyllus ‘Purpureus‘ features glossy, dark green leaves that are spiny and serrated, with a distinctive purple tint on the new growth. In autumn, it produces small, fragrant white flowers that bloom in clusters, filling the air with a delightful scent.

Landscape Uses

Multi-stem trees are ideal for creating interest while maintaining a softer, more natural feel than single-trunk specimens. They’re excellent for framing views and adding height without excessive bulk, making them well suited to smaller spaces, contemporary landscapes and naturalistic plantings where form and structure are key design elements.
