A very hardy new variety. Small glossy, dark green leaves and low spreading habit. Large single bright red flowers are produced en masse in Spring. Will also spot flower in Autumn and Winter.

Will grow in full sun or part shade with Summer watering. Hardy once established. Plant in a well drained, humus-rich soil that’s slightly acidic. Fertilise in Spring and late Summer with an Azalea specific fertiliser or a complete organic fertiliser. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape. Mulch well during extended dry periods. If flowers are turning mushy this could be a sign of Azalea Petal Blight. Pick off any spent flowers and treat with appropriate fungicides. Azaleas are also susceptible to insect attack. Treat with appropriate insecticides. Growing Azaleas in ideal conditions will help prevent any problems

Landscape Uses
