The very distinct and rare "spiral Aloe". The foliage will begin to spiral in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction as the plant matures, usually beginning when it reachs approximately 20-30cm in diameter.
Grow in full sun in most soil types as long as free draining, but rich soil preferred. Although they are quite dry tolerant it's still a good idea to keep water up to them in dry spells over summer. Can be frost sensitive so keep winter in mind when planting. Fertilise in spring.
Aloes are a perfect plant for growing in containers or mass planted in a landscape. Most Aloes flower from autumn to spring making them essential ingredients for winter gardens. Their hardy nature means they work well in most garden settings.
