Bring colour and nature into the garden, with Silver Princess’s large pink/red blossoms flowering from Winter through to Spring, serving up nectar for native birds. Together with its striking stems that age from red/brown to white, and its trunk‘s minni-ritchi (peeling) bark, it creates a wonderful, ornamental statement in any garden.

Cultural

Thanks to its lignotuber, ‘Silver Princess‘ can be coppiced to produce a multi-stem specimen. Better suited to areas with low rain fall and humidity. Tolerates light frost.
Soil:
Tolerates any well-drained soil, suitable for poor soil.
Aspect:
Full sun.
Maintenance:
Lightly prune in late winter or early spring to remove any damaged or wayward growth. Avoid heavy pruning, unless coppicing is required to rejuvenate the tree. Water well through its first summer. Apply a native fertiliser in spring if plant lacks vigour.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established.
Seasonal Interest:
Winter to spring flowering.

Landscape Uses

Use Silver Princess as a feature plant, with its striking flowers and large gumnuts. Working with the naturally pendulous form, it could be shaped (using support) to create a gateway or arbour in the garden. Its open structure allows for underplanting, and the overall appearance makes it a great addition to any garden. Its low water use makes it perfect for native and drought tolerant gardens, however it will still look at home in a floral cottage garden setting."
