Commonly known as the Lord Howe Wedding Lily, Dietes robinsoniana is a strappy perennial that has gorgeous white flowers. Though the flowers only open for a day, the plant blooms continually for 4-6 weeks. Dietes robinsoniana is found growing naturally on cliff faces, forest margins and behind beaches on Lord Howe Island.

Cultural

Dietes robinsoniana can cope with tough, coastal conditions but will need to be protected from frost.
Soil:
Prefers a fertile, well-drained soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Remove spent flowers and leaves to maintain tidy appearance. Apply a low-phosphorus fertiliser in spring if plant lacks vigour. Plants can be divided every few years, do so in late winter or early spring.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering.
Seasonal Interest:
Spring to summer flowering.

A perfect choice for cottage and formal gardens and is ideal for mass plantings or along driveways and fence lines.
