A lovely lilac aroma is produced from large mauve coloured flower heads, giving this plant its common name of Purple torch or Blue mist flower. The flowers appear on purple stems above velvety textured rich green leaves.

Best grown in a partly shaded position protected from frost. Grow in moist well-draining, humus rich soil. Mulch well. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
