Hydrangea quercifolia 'Snow Flake'
Hydrangea 'Snow Flake' has superior double snow-white flowers that form cone-shaped panicles in spring and summer. 'Snow Flake' flowers are hold up well in Australian conditions, staying pristine through hot weather and drying winds. As the cool autumn nights set in, the flowers become blushed in heritage red tones. This combination of deep green leaves nestled under red-tinged cream flowers creates an enchanting display in any garden space. The foliage of 'Snow Flake' is also a highlight - its large, deeply lobed leaves resembling oak tree foliage, start as a rich green and turn vibrant shades of red and purple in autumn.
Cultural
Hydrangea quercifolia can tolerate sunny positions but should be protected from harsh afternoon sun is recommended to avoid leaf scorch. Leaves are larger in shadier positions but take on richer burgundy tones with more sunlight. CAUTION: harmful to pets if ingested, can be a skin allergen in humans.

Maintenance:
Cut back in winter to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged stems. For optimal growth, feed with a slow-release fertiliser in late spring. Will benefit from an annual application of mulch. Susceptible to powdery mildew, mites and aphids- treat accordingly.

Will tolerate dry periods once established but performs better with adequate moisture. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
