Hydrangea quercifolia 'Snow Flake'
Snow Flake‘ features large, deeply lobed leaves resembling oak tree foliage, starting as a rich green and turning vibrant shades of red and purple in autumn. The shrub is noted for its double snow-white flowers that form cone-shaped panicles in spring and summer. As the season progresses, these blooms transition to soft pink and eventually deepen to pink and red tones by late summer and autumn.
Cultural
Hydrangea quercifolia can tolerate sunny positions but should be protected from harsh afternoon sun is recommended to avoid leaf scorch. Leaves are larger in shadier positions but take on richer burgundy tones with more sunlight. CAUTION: harmful to pets if ingested, can be a skin allergen in humans.

Tolerates any well-drained soil.

Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Cut back in winter to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged stems. For optimal growth, feed with a slow-release fertiliser in late spring. Will benefit from an annual application of mulch. Susceptible to powdery mildew, mites and aphids- treat accordingly.
Water Requirements:
Will tolerate dry periods once established but performs better with adequate moisture. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.

Late spring to summer flowering, autumn foliage colour.

With large conical flower heads and interesting foliage, Hydrangea quercifolia make an excellent focal point in garden beds or borders. Great for adding texture and colour to a range of styles, from perennial gardens to formal gardens.
