‘Herb Cottage‘ is a compact, upright herb with needle-like leaves that are soft green on top and silvery-white beneath, giving the foliage a textured, shimmering appearance. Its delicate pale lavender to soft blue flowers bloom prolifically in clusters along the stems during summer and often continue into autumn.

Cultural

Rosemary can tolerate partial shade but performs better in full sun. Frost tolerant once established and suitable for coastal conditions. Doesn‘t respond well to humidity and poor air circulation.
Soil:
Tolerates any well drained soil, suitable for poor soils.
Aspect:
Full sun.
Maintenance:
Prune lightly after flowering to maintain size and shape and to remove any dead stems. Rosemary has low-nutrient requirements but, if plants lack vigour apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established. Will not tolerate wet soil.
Seasonal Interest:
Spring to summer flowering, year round foliage interest.

Landscape Uses

Keep in pots next the BBQ or planted in a kitchen garden where leaves can be used to flavour an array of dishes. Create a provincial French style Mediterranean gardens when planted with Cupressus Glauca, Lavender, Rhaphiolepis and Citrus.
