Commonly known as Sea Holly ‘Pen Blue‘, is a striking perennial plant known for its architectural beauty and vivid blue flowers.
Cultural
Eryngium are tolerant of frost and coastal conditions. To create winter interest in the garden, leave spent flowers intact and prune just before spring.
Soil:
Prefers a light, well-drained soil. Suitable for poor soils.
Aspect:
Full sun.
Maintenance:
Cut the plant back to the ground in late winter or early spring to make way for new growth. Avoid heavy fertilising as it will lead to leggy growth. Susceptible to snail and slug predation, apply baits as required.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established. Will not tolerate wet conditions.

Summer flowering.
