Acmena smithii 'Green Screen'
A dense, fast-growing Australian native shrub, 'Green Screen' features lush mid-green foliage complemented by attractive flushes of bronze to reddish new growth. Its naturally upright, narrow habit makes it perfect for tight spaces while maintaining a neat, formal appearance. It produces small white flowers in summer, followed by decorative purple berries.
Cultural
Thrives in a full sun to part shade position and prefers moist, well-drained soil. It is low-maintenance once established and responds well to pruning, making it easy to maintain as a formal or informal hedge. Drought-tolerant and adaptable to a variety of soil types, it is also resistant to psyllid damage, ensuring reliable performance in a range of garden settings. Apply a slow-release native fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth.
Landscape Uses
An ideal choice for a fast-growing, screens or windbreaks, with deep green foliage that provides an excellent backdrop for other plants. It can also be grown in large containers or clipped into topiary shapes, and is well-suited to street plantings and industrial sites.
