Azalea 'Alphonse Anderson' is a hardy, vigorous growing Azalea bearing a profusion of large single soft pink flowers in spring and again as spot flowers in autumn. Is stronger and taller growing than 'Alba Magnifica'.

Cultural

Prefers a full sun to part shade position with a well-drained, humus rich soil that is slightly acidic. Is hardy once established. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape, mulch well during extended dry periods and fertilise with an Azalea specific or a complete organic fertiliser in spring and late summer. If flowers are becoming mushy this might be a sign of petal blight, pick off and dispose of then treat with appropriate fungicides. Azaleas are also susceptible to insect attack treat with appropriate pesticides.

Landscape Uses

Looks fantastic and works well mass planted under trees or as a specimen plant. Great potted in courtyards, entertaining areas or to frame an entrance. Their strong growth also makes them popular for standards. Works wonderfully planted with other traditional favourites such as Camellias, Pieris and Helleborus.
