Aster x frikartii 'Monch'
One of the first Asters to bloom the ‘Monch’ is bound to draw attention to any garden with its bold masses of attractive, soft purple daisy like flowers with golden yellow centres. Flowers are in abundance from late January to early May.
Cultural
Aster ‘Monch‘ can tolerate dry conditions and poor soil but, flower size and height will be reduced.

Tolerates any well-drained soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Deadhead regularly to maintain tidy appearance. Cut down to ground after flowering (late autumn/winter) and apply a layer of compost or mulch. Fertilise in late spring to promote flowering. Generally pest and disease free.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
Seasonal Interest:
Summer to autumn flowering.
Landscape Uses
Perfect for cottage and butterfly gardens, great as a border or accent plant. Looks wonderful planted with Loropetalum ‘Plum Gorgeous’, Calamagrostis ‘Karl Foerster‘ and Buxus balls.
