With a strong yet graceful presence, Crackerjack is a hardy Australian native grass that can be used in a variety of garden settings.

Cultural

Lomandra can withstand frost, coastal conditions and locations with high radiant-heat.
Soil:
Tolerates any well-drained soil, suitable for poor soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
If required, prune in late winter or early spring to maintain height. Divide in late winter or early spring if plants become too large. Has low nutrient requirements but a native fertiliser can be applied in spring if plants lack vigour. Will benefit from a yearly application of mulch.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established.
Seasonal Interest:
Spring to summer flowering.

Landscape Uses

Crackerjack can be used as groundcover and border edging, and will suit well in coastal, modern, and native gardens. It works well against driveways and concrete finishes as its soft and flimsy leaves contrast the hard paved surfaces.
