Magnolia x soulangeana 'HoneyTulip' pbr
A striking deciduous tree that puts on a bold display in early spring with large, upright tulip-shaped blooms in a rich, golden honey-yellow. The flowers appear on bare branches, creating a dramatic contrast against the dark stems. As the season progresses, glossy green foliage emerges, forming a compact, rounded canopy that provides year-round structure.
Cultural
Deciduous Magnolias should be planted in a sheltered position to avoid damage from strong winds. They can tolerate part-shade positions but flowering may be reduced.
Soil:
Prefers a fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Prune in late summer or autumn to maintain shape or remove any damaged or diseased growth. Apply a general fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth. Will benefit from a yearly application of mulch in spring. Generally pest-free, but it‘s a good idea to monitor for common garden pests such as aphids and scale.
Water Requirements:
Will tolerate dry periods once established but performs better with adequate moisture. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
Seasonal Interest:
Late winter to spring flowering.
