Citrus hystrix Lime 'Thai'
A compact, bushy shrub with glossy, dark green, aromatic leaves that are deeply ridged and oval-shaped. The plant produces small, round, bumpy green fruit that ripens to yellow. The fruit is prized for its fragrant zest and strong, tangy flavour, while the leaves are used in cooking for their distinct citrus aroma.
Cultural
Thai‘ Lime are sensitive to frost and will benefit from a sheltered position. Flowers and fruit should be removed from young plants to encourage strong growth.

Maintenance:
Lightly prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape. Fertilise in spring and late summer with a citrus-specific fertiliser. Susceptible to citrus scale, leaf miner, and gall wasp- monitor plants closely and apply appropriate treatments if detected.
Water Requirements:
Moderately drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering.
Seasonal Interest:
Summer flowering, autumn to spring fruiting.
