Switchgrass ‘Heavy Metal’ is an upright, clump-forming warm-season ornamental grass with striking metallic blue-grey foliage, turning golden-yellow in autumn; airy pink-tinged flower panicles appear in late summer above stiff, vertical stems.

Prefers full sun and well-drained soil, highly drought and heat tolerant once established, with excellent cold hardiness and minimal maintenance needs.

Maintenance:
Cut to ground level late winter early spring, relatively pest and disease free. Fertilise in early spring and mulch.

Flowers summer to late autumn.
