Dichondra repens
This native groundcover is a great option for providing a natural carpet for the garden, with small white flowers producing in Spring and Summer amongst its kidney-shaped leaves.
Cultural
Dichondra repens is a very low maintenance groundcover. Will tolerate full sun if watering is adequate and will cope with light frost.

Tolerates any well-drained soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Has low nutrient requirements but if plant lacks vigour, apply a liquid fertiliser in early spring and summer. If using as a lawn alternative, it can be mown 3-4 times a year.
Water Requirements:
Moderately drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil. .
Seasonal Interest:
Year round foliage interest.
Landscape Uses
This plant can tolerate light foot traffic and so is a great option to create a dense lawn in shaded areas. It also serves as a nice contrast to paved or stoned areas, and also works well in pots and hanging baskets.
