Banksia integrifolia 'Sentinel' pbr
Has an upright, narrow habit that‘s perfect for smaller spaces. Its toothed leaves are dark green and contrast beautiful with their silver undersides. Produces beautiful large lemon coloured flowers from summer to mid-winter which are great for attracting birds to the garden.
Cultural
Banksia ‘Sentinel‘ can tolerate salt laden winds and light frosts once established. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
Soil:
Prefers a light, well-drained soil. Avoid heavy clay.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Lightly prune after flowering to improve shape, feed with a native fertiliser at the same time. Banksia‘s flower on old wood so avoid heavy pruning. Will benefit from an annual application of mulch.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
Seasonal Interest:
Autumn to winter flowering.
Landscape Uses
Due to its 1.0m spread it is a great option for hedging in narrow areas such as alongside driveways and narrow garden beds. Can also work as a wind break. Plant with other Australian natives such as Agonis ‘Burgundy’ and Westringia ‘Jervis Gem’.

Can be kept to 1.5m high x 60cm wide or left to grow to 3.0m high x 1.0m wide
