DECIDUOUS,FULLSUN,FEATURE

A narrow pyramidal tree with a dense growth habit and attractive symmetrical branching. Produces brilliant orange/red foliage during Autumn, followed by white flowers in Spring. Our Pyrus are grafted for optimal growing performance.

Cultural

Thrives in a full sun position though will still grow well in part shade, is adaptable to most soil conditions including dry and intermittently wet soils. Tolerates air pollution. Adequate moisture in the first year is necessary to ensure that the tree will establish, though once established they are drought tolerant. Fertiliser during spring and prune in winter if required. This variant is more wind resistant than other types of Pyrus. When planting grafted stock ensure the graft is at least 7cm above soil level, if planted below soil level this can cause fungal and/or root issues.

Landscape Uses

This is ideal for narrow areas like driveways or garden boundary plantings. It is a suitable tree for street planting or as a feature in small gardens and parks as it produces a brilliant autumn colour and is bird attracting.
