Hosta 'Francee'
Herbaceous perennials with stunning lush foliage in blue/greys, golden/yellows, greens or variegated colors. They die down over Winter and erupt into new growth in Spring. During Summer they produce spikes of tubular nodding flowers in purple-white.
Cultural
Prefers a moist but well drained, fertile soil that is slightly acidic. Very much shade lovers any full sun in Summer will burn the decorative leaves. Summer watering is advised. Snails and slugs love them, but applications of snail bait will prevent chewed leaves. An application of palletised organic fertiliser in early Spring will kick start new growth.
Landscape Uses
Plant different varieties with different foliage shapes and colors en mass to create a stunning foliage effect in shaded areas. Ideal for planting under Maples in a Japanese style gardens. Grow well in containers providing you keep them well watered in Summer.
