Magnolia ‘Ab Fab’ is a brand-new release deciduous Magnolia with sophisticated ivory-white blooms tinged with pink in the centre. In the depths of winter ‘Ab Fab’ brings elegance to garden with masses of large goblet-shaped flowers held aloft in the bare canopy. These fragrant blooms can measure up to 30cm across, providing a striking garden focal point heralding the arrival of longer days. Our Magnolia ‘Ab Fab’ are grafted for optimal growing performance.
Cultural
Deciduous Magnolias should be planted in a sheltered position to avoid damage from strong winds and protection from the hot afternoon sun. ‘Ab Fab’ can tolerate a part-shade position but flowering may be reduced.

Prefers a fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soil

Maintenance:
Apply a general fertiliser in spring and late summer to promote healthy growth and flowers. ‘Ab Fab’ is generally pest-free, but it’s a good idea to monitor for common garden pests such as aphids and scale. Possums can enjoy eating buds and new growth, planting your Magnolia away from fencelines, powerlines or other access points can help avoid this issue. Pruning is generally not required except to shape the tree as desired or to remove any damaged or diseased growth.
