'Lime Spire' is an improvement on other Tristaniopsis cultivars, featuring a narrow upright form, smaller and denser foliage and refreshing lime-green new growth. It makes a fantastic hedge, screen or stand-alone specimen in any garden space.
Cultural
A hardy native small tree, enjoys moderate watering and well drained soil.
Soil:
Prefers a fertile, well-drained soil but will tolerate most well-drained soils.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
If required, prune to maintain shape and to remove any dead or damaged branches. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring if plant lacks vigour. Will benefit from a yearly application of mulch.
Water Requirements:
Will tolerate dry periods once established but performs better with additional watering during dry periods.
Seasonal Interest:
Summer flowering.
Landscape Uses
Lime Spire makes a lovely screen on the fenceline or in the rear of a garden bed. Its lime-green new growth is the perfect foil for colourful perennial borders, statement plants or clipped topiary balls.
