Arbutus unedo
Often called the Strawberry Tree, Arbutus unedo makes a wonderful evergreen specimen tree, as the whole tree puts on a show. From clusters of delicate bell shaped white flowers, that turn into vibrant yellow, orange and red fruit, to the textured red bark peeling away to reveal the smooth trunk underneath.
Cultural
The eye-catching fruit takes 12 months to mature, typically ripening when next-seasons flowers bloom.
Soil:
Tolerates any well-drained soil, suitable for poor soils.

Drought tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary watering.
Seasonal Interest:
Autumn flowering, fruit matures throughout the year.
