Soil:
Prefers a light, well-drained soil. Avoid high-clay soils.
Aspect:
Part shade to full shade.
Maintenance:
Remove spent leaves and flowers as required. Apply a general fertiliser in spring to promote flowering and healthy growth. Susceptible to snail and slug predation, apply baits as required.
Water Requirements:
Keep moist in the warmer months, water sparingly in winter.
Seasonal Interest:
Autumn to spring flowering.

Landscape Uses

Fantastic plant for decorative pots or for mass planting under large trees and shrubs. One of the few plants that will flower in heavy shade. Can be used as an indoor/outdoor feature and makes a fantastic cut flower.
