Pycnosorus globosus
Pycnosorus globosus, commonly known as Billy Buttons, is a hardy Australian native perennial featuring distinctive, globe-shaped golden-yellow flower heads held on upright stems above narrow grey-green foliage.
Cultural
Typically evergreen but may die down in winter in cooler climates. Plants grow via rhizomes so will reshoot.
Soil:
Prefers a well-drained soil, can tolerate poor or heavy soil.
Aspect:
Full sun to part shade.
Maintenance:
Remove spent flowers and leaves to encourage fresh growth. In frosty climates, cut plant back to the base and apply a layer of mulch. Established clumps can be divided.
Water Requirements:
Drought tolerat once established but will benefit from supplementary watering.
Seasonal Interest:
Spring to summer flowering.

Ideal for native, meadow-style, and drought-tolerant plantings, where its bold form and vibrant colour can be appreciated in mass. Their distinctive flowers are great for floral arrangements and can be easily dried.
